Stuart Margolin’s stepson, filmmaker Christopher Martini, reveals that footage survives from Pure Escape, an unfinished film Margolin directed in Canada with James Garner and Billy Dee Williams. Martini says the production stopped after roughly a quarter of the movie was shot, apparently after funding fell through, and he hopes to include the unreleased material in Everybody’s Angel: The Stuart Margolin Story.

Martini also opens his family archive of never-before-seen home movies, Stuart Margolin’s scripts and handwritten acting notes, and personal memories of Margolin’s friendship with Garner. He explains why Margolin never chased the spotlight, how Angel Martin brought out a different side of Jim Rockford, and why the documentary is meant to honor the character actors who made classic television unforgettable.
